​Welcome to Sense-Able Nutrition Dietetics and Feeding Clinic. We believe that one needs to consider all the puzzle pieces of life and personal wellness when you start on a food-related journey. This includes support, education and motivation. Our aim is to empower individuals and families with the skills, knowledge, and self-confidence to understand and manage their own food-related challenges in a simple and ‘real-life, real-food’ way.

Sandy Booysen
Accredited Practising Dietitian and Feeding Therapist
Sandy is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Feeding Therapist with nearly 15 years dietetics experience working in hospitals, community clinics, and private practice.
She is passionate about working with individuals and families to develop their own skills and tools to manage their food-related challenges in a simple, manageable and strengths-focused way. She believes that your food journey cannot be separated from your life journey and that food encompasses so much more than just nutrition.
Sandy's special areas of interest include:

Fostering positive food relationships, addressing disordered eating habits, and preventing cycles of food-related change failure

Gut-brain health, particularly how food impacts our behaviour and mental health

Identifying and managing adverse food reactions ( these include food allergies, intolerances and chemical sensitivities)
Sandy is especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and families, and subscribes to a strengths-based, neuro-affirming model of care.

Sandy has additional training in identifying and managing food chemical sensitivities, the FODMAP diet for IBS management and the SOS approach to feeding therapy and treating those with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Feeding Therapy
Food can be difficult for some, especially for children and adolescents who are still figuring out their world. We understand that this can be tricky for the whole family to navigate.

In our fully equipped Food Therapy space, we make exploring food and discovering new food related experiences fun and engaging, while focusing on developing the skills needed to overcome food related anxiety.
